Can AI read and cite your site?

Your next customer asks ChatGPT before buying. Two things decide the answer: whether AI can read your site at all, and whether your content is in the shape AI quotes. This test checks both, from llms.txt and blocked crawlers to FAQ schema and article metadata.

Free, no signup. Deterministic checks: no AI grading you.

What this test checks

llms.txtllms.txtdoes the file AI assistants read to understand and summarize your product exist and respond?
AI crawlersAI crawlersdoes robots.txt block GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot or Google-Extended?
Structured dataStructured datais there JSON-LD saying what the site is, so AI does not have to guess?
Titles and metaTitles and metageneric or duplicate titles and missing meta description / Open Graph leave AI with nothing to quote.
Machine basicsMachine basicsHTML lang, image alt text and a reachable OG image: the plumbing a machine relies on.
FAQ schemaFAQ schemaquestions marked up as FAQPage are the format assistants lift answers from directly.
Article metadataArticle metadataposts without author and date read as unattributed, so AI is slower to cite them.

The engine is the same as the full exam. Findings from the other fronts show up as a one-line summary with a link to the full report. Everything with clickable evidence, as the methodology demands.

What is llms.txt?

A plain-text file at the root of your site, like robots.txt, that summarizes your product and lists the pages that matter for AI assistants. It takes minutes and changes how ChatGPT describes you.

Reading versus citing, what is the difference?

Reading is whether AI can access and parse your pages at all (crawlers, llms.txt, structured data). Citing is whether your content is in the shape AI pulls into an answer (FAQ schema, dated and authored articles). This tool covers both fronts.

Is blocking AI crawlers not protection?

It is a choice. But whoever blocks GPTBot disappears from ChatGPT answers. If your acquisition depends on being found, the block works against you. The test shows the current state; the decision is yours.
